Classic City Kiwanis schedules Fall Barbeque for Nov. 8, 2008
The Classic City Kiwanis Club of Athens is planning its Fall Chicken Barbeque for Saturday, November 8th. Using a special barbeque recipe, made famous in Athens by the Massey family, over 1,000 entire half chickens are slow-grilled for hours and served in platters with slaw, chips, bread and a cookie. You can buy tickets from members for $7.00 each, or order online at www.ClassicCityKiwanis.com.
Proceeds from this semi-annual fund-raiser are used to benefit children in Athens, including Special Olympics, the Clarke Central Baseball Team, an annual scholarship award and the Clute Barrow Nelson Life Foundation, which helps children with cancer and their families.
