Michael has been an independent insurance agent for the past nine years and has chaired various public-service committees in Clarke, Madison, Elbert and Franklin Counties. Michael is a former member of the Madison County Rotary Club, and a current member of the Classic City Kiwanis and Royston First United Methodist Church. Michael is the Kiwanis advisor to the Clarke Central High School Key Club in Athens. While serving as agency manager at Best Buy Insurance of Athens in 2004 Michael was named a top insurance producer for commercial property and casualty insurance, and again in 2005. Michael also concurrently functioned as agency principal for Houseal Insurance and Bonding in Birmingham Alabama, serving as duel manager and overseeing the success of both agencies.
